"He walked in?" Does Toby look as impressed as he is? The intoxicated jaw drop should give it away pretty easily. "I can completely believe this and am even more glad that's how he got in." That's a whole new level of awesome added to the story and Toby is living for it (metaphorically) right now. The booze may be making it a little easier for him to be extra excited about all this.
Toby waves a hand dismissively at the 'he's not the devil' speech. Yeah, yeah, he knows that already. Multiverses are weird and all that. "I'm not saying he did this to me, but he should have some sympathy for me because I've had to deal with someone who has his name doing it to me." That's how that works in his world. Duh.
The vampire looks across the table with raised eyebrows, his mouth opening and closing a few times as he stares dumbly. "...oh." He's met beings older than him, but not that much older than him. Uh, how does one talk to someone who's that much their elder?? "I'm... sorry?" Words are increasingly hard as the drink settles in, so this is not his finest or smoothest moment.
