"Good. I'd hate for God to get away with not being scandalized from time to time." Not that he's ever met God or wants to, but it makes him feel better to know someone out there is pulling a fast one on "The Man Upstairs" whenever possible. Someone really ought to and it won't be this particular vampire.
Toby gives Beelzebub a flat look. "Well. Fine. Call him then." Because he totally doesn't mean it. Right? Right. Totally. No way would Beelzebub, lord of war, call Lucifer and tell him to come down and put a drunken vampire in his place. Not that Toby would complain if it did happen, but he suspects it won't. He came out to ruffle Beelzebub's feathers, not someone else's.
"It works surprisingly well!" he counters, pointing fast enough with the hand holding his glass that he sloshes some remnants of whiskey onto the table between them. "I mean, in me being older than most folks. Not everyone's impressed like they should be, but 300 is respectable even by immortal standards on my world! ...mostly. I told an angel back home and he told me I was young to his 6,000. That was a bit of a let down." Until he met the wine and book collection more intimately, but that's another story entirely.
