"To be honest I don't actually know. At least I assume he has the grasp of the basics having lived on the streets for so long."

Also, he looked after all those street kids. Surely, he could cook something for them unless he stole everything he found. Balthazar just didn't know enough about his lover and that in itself troubled him somewhat. He wanted to know more and would in time. It was just awkward trying to answer Lucifer's questions without knowing what to say.

"I want to learn more about him. I've been with him a few months now and even now he's still a mystery in many ways."

"It sounds like you two need to spend some time talking instead of fucking." The words are spoken with understanding and humor. Lord knows it took Lucifer and his Balthazar some time to calm down and actually talk in depth instead of just jumping each other all over.

"It takes time to learn but you have to make the effort to be the one to ask sometime." Lucifer knew that worked both way. The likelihood that the other of the pair was in the same boat of not knowing much felt high.


"Be your usual charming self. Drink too much, get chatty and cuddle up with him somewhere." That was a compliment despite being said with some humor. Lucifer loved the time he spent slowly drinking wine or tea or what ever with Balthazar and just talking.

That got the angel snorting a little in amusement because Lucifer was right. They had been fucking a lot and talking less than perhaps they should have been. The sex had been amazing so far and Balthazar knew a healthy relationship relied on conversation as well as carnal lust. Sipping his brandy, he finally nodded in agreement.

"You have me there. It's just been an amazing ride so far and it's hard to stop. We do need some time to just lay in bed and talk about one another."

He would make time. Jack deserved that much and Balthazar knew it would help both men find out more about each other. Of course, touching and kissing would no doubt punctuate their conversation at points. The cuddling though? That was definitely going to happen.

"Was it like this between you and your Balthazar at first?"

"You could try going to dinner where everyone else is in close conversation. Sometimes the environment can help."

Lucifer was adding the vegetables now. The aroma from the food is pungent with chili and acidity with a distinctly salty smell. Nothing overpowering but definitely fragrant. Adding some water he lidded the pan and turned it down to simmer. This gave him time to address the angel more fully.

"At first, no. I had other concerns as a king of fallen angels suddenly involved with an angel still in the service of heaven. After the challenges to my rulership simmered down, I banged him like a screen door in a hurricane. It took us time to talk but we have always been open and talkative, if slightly secretive at times."

Lucifer took a drink of his brandy. "How long did it take you to kiss him? Mine, two hours after I met him at most and he had me on my back kissing me."

There's an open fondness to Lucifer's voice. He adored the bold way Balthazar had come at him. Smart mouthed, fearless and demanding of his attention. If he had been any more subdued Lucifer might not have been interested.

"Dinner would be a good idea to broach the subject. Perhaps a romantic meal somewhere in the Nexus or at home. That's if I learn how to cook first."

Balthazar smiled as he watched Lucifer prepare the food, adding things and producing all sorts of wonderful smells as he did so. The man was skilled in the kitchen indeed. His counterpart was a lucky man to have such an attentive lover.

"A screen door? I love it. The same could be said about myself and Jack since we're still at the screen door stage and frankly? I love every second of being against his hot skin, making passionate love to him."

Talking about their lovers had to come sometime and it seemed right now the angel was discussing his sex life with the devil. Nothing wrong with that at all. Lucifer was a very caring man. Scratching the back of his neck, Balthazar exhaled softly.

"Hm, it was a good few hours when I finally did get to kiss him. It happened at his apartment in New York. I brought him oysters and champagne. Food porn."

"I would suggest recon. Ask around to his friends and family to find out what he likes. It always makes a better impression if you can order something for them that they will love." Lucifer was a master of seduction but it did not mean he seduced everyone. Sometimes seduction of your own partner is the best use.

"I do not love Balthazar's skin on mine any less, but there is a calm knowing that you will still have opportunities later in the night or tomorrow." Lucifer was still wild but he could wait and savor the desire until opportunity came.

"Waiting has a benefit in desire." Lucifer agrees. "In my Creation celestial and fallen leave marks on the things they touch. I knew it would make me a target for attack to wear the mark of intimacy with a celestial. It did not deter me. I am not sure anything would have short of him saying no."

"Recon? Good idea. I might convene with Ziggy and perhaps his kids too."

Maybe they would be able to advise on what sort of things Jack liked in terms of food and drink. Balthazar had a rough idea but he needed more solid substance if he were to truly understand Jack's needs. Lucifer's words sticking in his mind as he listened.

"You're right. Just light touches against each other's skin can light a sensual desire for one another. Yet, I am sorry to hear about your plight involving being intimate with another. It must have been hard."

The angel's features soften at hearing Lucifer's unfortunate circumstances. Yet, both him and Balthazar had found one another and love entailed. Mulling his drink around in his glass, Balthazar leant back against the countertop.

"That is what I would do before planning a dinner date." Lucifer furrows his brow a little and realizes he should probably take his own advice. He hasn't taken his own Balthazar out.

Lucifer turns to look at this Balthazar and raises a brow. "Everything you say is about getting desire out of your partner. Touch, food, all of it. The way you speak about this person sounds more like you are looking for more ways to score points to get into their pants than know them."

Lucifer takes a breathe and a pause because recent events are clouding up his current feelings. In the pause he recenters himself and smiles a bit. "Touching someone is more than sensuality, sexuality or desire. It is intimacy, comfort, reassurance, trust, and many other things. "

Lucifer shakes his head a little because he knows this is youthful desire and potentially inexperience. "He is a prostitute. Everyone else in his life is already doing things to him for sex, sensuality, to get desire out of him so he will go with them instead of someone else. Every other touch on his body is for that purpose. Makes yours mean something else, at least some of the time. Partnership is more than sex, sensuality, and desire."

Was it true? That all he had between himself and Jack was intimacy and nothing else? Balthazar frowned and sipped some of his drink. No, there was more. So much more yet, he wasn't getting that part across since being swept up in the whole fucking part. Jack as a person deserved so much more.

"You're right, I should try to project more than just my carnal desire towards him. There is so much more to my love than just a quick fuck."

Sighing softly, he knew he'd had to try and prove that somehow. Taking Jack out to dinner was a start and so was taking him out to shop. All the little things he never experienced back home on his world. The sex was good but like Lucifer said it had to be more.

"I want to take him out shopping soon and treat him to a nice walk through some wooded areas within the Nexus. My vessel loves nature so perhaps taking Jack into nature might help him heal and find himself."

"You will find your balance." Lucifer acknowledges. "Though, it sounds like what you want will benefit from expressing those other things now."

Lucifer pauses to stir the food and nods but he has to question. "Is any of that what he wants? Do you even know what he enjoys to do with his own time?"

Lucifer turns back to him when he's done with the food. "I know how easy it is to get caught up in physical pleasure and your own wants. A relationship needs to be a friendship as much as fun in bed. I have never been in a serious relationship with someone who did sex work but I would imagine all the non-sexual forms of intimacy might set you apart from everyone else?"

Lucifer is giving his best advice on something he hasn't done but it was logical at least.

Lucifer's words echoed in Balthazar's mind. Is any of that what he wants? Truth be told, he was just going on gut instinct from what he knew of Jack already. Yet, he had to make an effort to find out what he lover wanted. Maybe he didn't want any of that and the angel was wasting his time. He would find his balance though. They were comforting words as Balthazar leant back onto the counter and finished his drink.

"I will ask him. Bond with him further and find out these little things that make Jack tick."

As for all the intimacy? Yes, it was nice. More than nice. But he knew Jack deserved a break now and then to experience things he may not have experienced before. Light, fluffy things along with experiences involving both men enjoying each other's time outside of the bedroom.

"You speak wise words, Lucifer. Your Balthazar is a very lucky man indeed."

"Have you thought about taking the time to let it happen?" Lucifer felt like there was some forcefulness in the other angel, a rush of some sort. Whether that was true or not he couldn't say because it was a gut feeling. "Why not be you and see where it goes? Friendship cannot be forced and it is never more true than in a relationship."

Lucifer smiles broadly and with affection because he is thinking about his own Balthazar. "Take some time and sit around the house talking to each other, drinking wine or tea or whatever? Take him out to dinner and talk without thinking about the end game being you getting in his pants."

Lucifer laughed quietly if only because he was speaking straight from experience.

Balthazar watched Lucifer busy himself with the food preparation and frowned. Had he even thought about such things through the rollercoaster of emotions surrounding Jack and their relationship together? It had just been about bending one another over the nearest surface most of the time. The sex was great but there had to be more.

"To be honest it's been more of a wild ride and I've just been caught up with it all. I'm addicted to Jack's sensuality but also his heart. Taking some time out together to sit and talk sounds a good idea."

It might be good to have a change of pace now and then to the constant fucking. Giving Jack a break from what he was used to doing all the time. Offering him a choice to do what he wanted to do. The angel sighed and shoved both hands into his pockets.

"Taking him out to dinner? That sounds divine. Did you and your Balthazar wine and dine after constant fucking?"

"I find breakfast in bed and a long talk with mimosas or another equally appreciated morning drink, some love making and whatever else comes up makes for an amazing day." Lucifer had done this before and could attest to the benefits and pleasure of it.

Lucifer can't help but laugh at the question. "We have never been out on a date or even drinks really unless it is a party. I cook for him here a lot and we share drinks in the library." Lucifer shrugs. "I am not sure why but were are comfortable at home. I really should take him out for an evening sometime."

"Mimosas? How classy. I do enjoy a bottle or two of champagne myself. Dom Perignon being my favourite type."

Balthazar was a angel of choice booze and champagne was one of his weaknesses. Once he found his life on Earth he started picking out the finer things in life because why the hell not? He was a rebel and everyone knew it.

"Drinks in the library? If I were there I'd read erotica whilst sipping champagne or red wine. Such opulence."

"I have a fondness for fruit." Lucifer tells the other angel while going back the food.

That other comment though gets a full musical laugh from Lucifer. "You have some unexpected, or perhaps I should expect them, commonalities with my Balthazar."

It was quite amusing to see them revealed and to learn what was the same and what was different.
